Bucktail Blackberry Mead

We're excited to introduce something brand new that celebrates Curwensville's history in a delicious way.

The Curwensville Area Historical Society has partnered with Starr  Hill Winery to create Bucktail Blackberry Mead—a rich, honey-sweetened blackberry mead inspired by one of our community's proudest chapters.

The name honors the famous Bucktail Regiment, whose roots run deep in this area. Led by Curwensville's E.A. Irvin, the Bucktails earned a reputation for courage and determination during the Civil War. Their legacy is an important part of our local story, just as the Patton House, built by John Patton and now home to the Curwensville Area Historical Society museum, continues to preserve the history that shaped our community.

And now you can raise a glass to that history.

Bucktail Blackberry Mead is available now for an introductory price of $15 per bottle at all of Starr Hill Winery's locations, with online orders and shipping coming soon. Starr Hill will also be taking it along to festivals and events throughout the season, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to pick up a bottle.

Every bottle does more than celebrate our history—it helps preserve it. A portion of the proceeds will support the Curwensville Area Historical Society's mission to preserve our local heritage, care for the historic Patton House, and keep Curwensville's stories alive for generations to come.
